FAD’s Design Process

Definition of A successful project- A Wow effect, work achieved on time with all parameters fulfilled.

At FAD we leave nothing on chance. All our strategy and analysis develops from our Design process which has been developed and perfected by us over the years. Once the design process is ready for a customer it then becomes our Bible for executing the job successfully.

Having a detailed, structured plan is what the Design Process encompasses. Setting a plan and adhering to it from start to finish is the criterion. All steps in the process are critical. They need to be internalized by the team. Design Process makes the project approach focused on the main functions and core principles.

Defining and determining user needs is crucial. This determines the goals we need to accomplish in the given parameters.

At the 1st stage it helps identify problem areas, define requirements, analyze, brainstorm, stay focused, give fresh perspectives with research, brew new philosophies. As a practice we not only follow the client’s requirement as defined by them, but strategize with information collection and analysis to come up with suggestions that will be suitable to the brand and product.

The 2nd stage is to realize possibilities with building prototypes, making dummies, making iterations, refining. Following the definition of the product comes the creation of concepts. Ideation phase with sketches, drawings, mood boards, themes, 3D views for spaces to give the real time look of the idea. Prototypes, dummies, 3D renderings are presented to clients to give the nearest look and feel of the design. This also gives room for small but vital alterations as one views the design as they will be in real time.

The 3rd stage is finalization with detailed drawings and specifications, making artworks to build and execute. The final stage is meticulously planned with detail drawings, specs sheets, proof read and color calibrated for prints, actual scale samples and test prints checked for color and quality following brand standards. Samples are made of key elements that will repeat. Construction of the final product from the detailed documentation is undertaken. Fabrication at workshop goes through regular quality checks, assembly of elements, design drawings checked and referred for final assembly on site.

All teams maintain check-list of requirements and refer to it at all stages of project implementation. Time schedule check, material check, safety check are carried out simultaneously.
